Harold "Harry" James Brockman, 93, died peacefully on May 11, 2024, at St. Peter's Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on Aug. 7, 1930, to the late Martin and Kathryn (Ostdiek) Brockman in Hastings, Nebraska. Harold received his secondary education at the Pontifical College Josephinium in Columbus, Ohio, and earned bachelor of architecture and bachelor of arts (major in German literature) degrees, as well as a certificate in Portuguese studies from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
Harold proudly served his country as a Seabee in the United States Navy on active duty, stationed in Okinawa, Japan, from 1960 to 1964, and in the Naval Reserves until the early 1980s, earning the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
He had a long career as a registered architect, designing buildings in multiple international locations including Brazil, Nicaragua and Saudi Arabia, as well as stateside.
Harold is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Nancy; his daughters, Amy Brockman and Stacia (Alexander) Stern; and his cherished granddaughter, Samantha (Cooper) Stern.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Harold's family on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville, N.Y. 12211. His Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m., with the Rev. James Walsh and Fr. Thomas Fallati concelebrating.
Burial will follow at a later date with military honors in the Saratoga National Cemetery
