Thirteen teams of three battled high winds and intermittent showers Sunday to start the tournament season at the Lawrence Country Club. Cool and wet conditions may have kept a few fair-weather golfers away, but 39 were up to the challenges of the course and the conditions.
Championship Flight was won by the Tim Streff team shooting a 59. Second place went to the Ed Karm- azin team with a 62, and third place went to the Greg Pohlmeier team finishing with a 63.
Three teams all shot a 69 to takes the prizes in the First Flight. By the luck of the count back, the Garrett Hofstetter team took first, the Don Kohmetscher team took second, and the Dale Kohmetscher team took third.
Flag prizes were awarded as follows: Hole No. 2- Closest to pin on tee off – Gerald Buschkoetter, Hole No. 4 – Closest to pin in two – Wayne Kohmetscher, Hole No. 5 – Longest putt – Kyle Faimon, Hole No. 6 – Closest to pin on tee shot – Mike Hofstetter, Hole No. 9 – Longest putt – Kyle Faimon.
The first Couples Night golf is scheduled for this Friday night. Bring a partner and a pot luck dish, and come out and enjoy a fun night of golf.
