Raise to Remember new Memorial weekend festival

The Brodstone Foundation, in partnership with the American Legion Post No. 103 and Sons of the American Legion Squadron No. 103, are sponsoring a new Memorial Day event – Raise to Remember – a flag exchange event to honor our Nation’s fallen heroes. This year, Raise to Remember will take the place of the annual Race to Remember event previously coordinated by Brodstone Community Wellness.

Raise to Remember offers a meaningful way for the community to show respect and gratitude to veterans and their families by providing an opportunity to properly dispose of and replace their American flags. Here’s how it works:

Bring your worn or tattered American flags to Brodstone Healthcare from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, May 24.

Use 10th Street to access the Brodstone south entrance drive-thru coming from the east and exiting through the west.

The American Legion Post 103 and Sons of the American Legion Squadron 103 will be on-site to collect the flags and conduct a dignified flag retirement ceremony at a future date.

In exchange for your old flag, you will receive a brand-new American flag, absolutely free (limit one per household, while supplies last).

The Brodstone Foundation is committed to honoring our veterans and their families. Raise to Remember is a chance for the community to come together and show appreciation for those who have served, while continuing to honor the Nation’s flag.
