PEO Chapter J highlights membership

PEO Chapter J met on May 13 at the home of Cindy Adamson with Karen Thayer serving as co-hostess.

President Carol Eckles opened the business meeting which focused on placing additional memorial markers at the Nelson cemetery for the recently departed active members and inactive members who had enjoyed long-term membership prior to incapacity. Carol also asked for input from those present on by-law changes that she will be voting on during the state convention in June.

The program focusing on membership was led by DeAnna Tuttle and began with a skit titled “Retired Husbands Wife’s Club.” Deb Troudt, Donna Jensen and Sue VanSkiver joined DeAnna in the humorous skit on the importance of fellowship with female friends during this time in our lives. DeAnna had asked at the April meeting that members come prepared to suggest names of future members and that a prize would be awarded to the member that came up with the most names. Ruth Epley (with a little help from her friends) came up with the most names and received the first place prize.

Donna Jensen will host the Monday, June 10 meeting which will be held at the Nelson United Community Church of Christ.
