Mankato Chamber of Commerce report on Community Clean-Up

The regular monthly meeting for the Mankato Chamber of Commerce took place Wednesday, May 8, at the senior center with seven members present. President Jason Ortman called the meeting to order. Haley Nelson read the April minutes. They were approved as read. Nelson also gave the treasurer’s report which were approved.

Nelson gave an update on the membership drive for 2024. There were two new members this month. The website

program the chamber uses is going to see a significant price increase. More details will look into what the chamber’s options will be in the future and email them to members. The price increase will take place on Thursday May 30.

The chamber discussed the Community Wide Clean-Up. There were approximately 20 to 22 pickups this year. The chamber bought two ads in the paper and four pizzas for the city employees who helped. The total cost this year was $102.67.

Jason Ortman attended Senior Day on May 10 to present Bella Volker with her scholarship award.

On April 21, NCK Casa hosted a free movie with a free small popcorn at the Ute Theatre. Phyllis Christie reported there were 66 people who attended the movie.

The chamber discussed the Community Birthday Calendars. Nelson will start working on the invoices for the individuals who ordered last year. She will also check about the price of printing for this year.

The next meeting will take place Wednesday, June 12 at the Roam.
