The Lawrence-Nelson High School boys golf team competed at the Sandy Creek Invitational last Tuesday. The 18-hole event was played over the Crooked Creek course at Clay Center. Teams from Sutton, Doniphan-Trunbull, Sandy Creek, Exeter-Milligan, Superior, Thayer Central, Red Cloud, Fillmore Central, Centennial, Blue Hill, High Plains Community and Heartland Lutheran competed at the event.
The Raiders finished in fifth place with their team score of 352.
The Raiders played at the postponed and rescheduled Superior Invitational at the Superior Country Club Monday. They took second place honors for the 18-hole event with a team score of 361 Teams from Doniphan-Trumbull, Superior, Heartland, Sutyton, Fairbury, Deshler, Red Cloud, Fillmore Central, Sandy Creek, Bruning-Davenport-Shickley, Blue Hill, Thayer Central and Centennial took part.
Bayln Bargen and Connor Janda led the Raiders at Sandy Creek with rounds of 86. Janda earned the 13th place medal with Bargen picking up the 15th place medal. Jacob Kathman contributed a round of 89. Clay Williams finished with a round of 92. Carson Vaughn posted a round 93. The four lowest individual rounds constitute the team score.
Kathman finished third in the individual standings at Superior with his round of 85. Bargen was in 12th place with his round of 89. Vaughn took the 14th place medal with his round of 90. Williams posted a round of 97. Janda recorded a round of 98.
The Raiders played the Blue Hill Invitational Tuesday at the Red Cloud Golf Course.
The Hastings St. Cecilia Invitational scheduled for today (Thursday) has been cancelled.
