Rebecca J. Avello, 36, of Grantville, Pennsylvania, formerly of rural Glenvil, Nebraska, and St. Louis, Missouri, died on March 16, 2024, in the Hershey Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
She was born April 14, 1987, in Hastings, Nebraska, the daughter of Jon Dumler and Sandra (Willis) Nejezchleb.
Rebecca had worked for the Hershey Company for many years, eventually moving to the area to be closer to the Hershey corporate headquarters. She was also involved with both the Project Fellowship and the Living Staff and Seniors at The Milton Hershey School.
Rebecca is survived by her husband, Joshua Avello; mother, Sandra (Lyle) Nejezchleb; father, Jon Dumler; paternal grandmother, Bonnie Waldron Dumler; sister, Jessica (Mike) Dumler Stokes; brothers, Dillon and Dalton Dumler; step-brother, Eric (Amanda) Nejezchleb; step-sister, Maria Nejezchleb; mother-in-law, Marne Avello; brother-in-law, Jacob (Kenlea) Avello; sister-in-law, Johleen Solly; three nephews and four nieces.
She was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Kenneth Dumler and maternal grandparents, the Rev. C. Johnson and Neica Willis.
Her funeral was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 23, at the Milton Hershey School Founders Hall.
A service in Nebraska will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 6, at the Davenport United Methodist Church, 307 North Maple Ave., Davenport Nebraska. Luncheon to follow at the Davenport Community Center, 110 South Linden Ave., Davenport.
