The Superior High School girls and boys track and field teams kicked off the 2024 season at the Doane University Class C Invitational at Crete Friday.
Teams from Bishop Neumann. Conestoga, Cornerstone Christian, Exeter-Milligan, Falls City, Grand Island Central Catholic, Johnson County central, Louisville, North Bend Central, Sutton, Tri County, Twin River, Wilber-Clatonia as well a student athletes from unattached teams.
Khloe Mundorf finished in 11th place in the girls 60 meter dash preliminary heat. Ariana Heusinkvelt took 14th with Sadie Cornell finishing in 15th place. None of the runners advanced to the final heat. There were 40 runners in the preliminary heat.
Mundorf took 10th place in the 200 meter dash final heat. Cora Schnakenberg held down 16th place. Halle Bargen was in 21st place The field had 38 runners.
Faith Butler earned the third place medal in the 400 meter dash with her time of 1:05. 56. Maddi Bargen finished in 18th place. Reagan Meyers was in 23rd place.
The 4 x 400 relay team finished in 13th place.
Reagan Meyers finished in the points with her place effort of 4’10” for the high jump.. Cora Schnakenberg was in 18th place while Lilly Edwards was in 20th place.
A. Heusinkvelt nabbed seventh place in the long jump with her distance of 14’7.25”. Cornell was ion 15th place.
Butler earned fifth place points in the pole vault when she cleared the bar at 8’.
Madison Heusinkvelt scored the sixth place points in the discus with her throw of 99’6”. Mia Gardner finished in 21st place. Jailynn Lueking was in 29th place.
A. Heusinkvelt sewed up third place in the shot put with her toss of 34’7”. M. Heusinkvelt followed in fourth place with her toss of 34’3”. Gardner was in 14th place.
Trey Blau ran the boys 60 meter dash preliminary heat.
Maddox Martin was in 31st place in the 200 meter dash. Thomas Mathis was in 35th place. Justice Sander finished in 40th place.
Lincoln Sander had an 11th place finish in the 400 meter dash. Kyler Boyles held down 21st place.
The 4 x 400 meter relay team posted a 13th place finish.
L. Sander was 18th in the long jump. Blau finished 27th. Tyler edwards finished in 31st place.
Dylan Edwards had a 24th place finish in the triple jump.
Jaren Gilbert took 31st place in the discus. J. Sander was in 33rd place.
Mathis was awarded the eighth place points in the shot put for his toss of 39’8.25” Boyles was in 14th place. Christian Osweiller was in 28th place.
The Wildcats traveled to Sutton Tuesday for the Sutton Invitational with results unavailable at press time.
The team competes at the Wilcox-Hildreth Invitational Friday.
