The Lawrence-Nelson boys and girls track and field teams opened the season at the Doane University Class D Invitational meet at Crete Thursday.
Teams from Dorchester, Fullerton, Hampton, Heartland Christian, Heartland Community, Kenesaw, McCool Junction, Nebraska Lutheran, Neligh-Oakdale, Pender and Shelton competed.
Addi McCloskey and Danyelle Church ran the girls 60 meter dash preliminary heats.
Natalia Wehrman, McLoskey and Hadley Ostdiek competed in the 200 meter dash. Paige Huston was ninth in the 400 meter dash. Hanna Skinner ran the 400 meter dash.
Kynnedy Beale and Harley Beale competed in the 800 meter run.
Jessica Sole took part in the 1600 meter run.
Sydney Biltoft earned fourth place points in the 60 meter hurdles with her time of 10.7 seconds.
The 4 x 400 meter relay team finished with the fifth place points with their time of 4’58.20. The 4 x 800 meter relay team finished in ninth place.
Paige Huston landed a third place finish in the triple jump with her distance of 27’11.75”.
Daneylle Church competed in the shot put.
Ace Wulf, Gus Harrison and Brandt McLaughlin ran preliminary heats of the boys yard dash.
Cody Funk and Caleb Griffis ran the 200 meter dash.
Aidan Zikmund, Sawyer Cox and Jackson Williams competed in the 400 meter dash.
Jace Hoelting and Aaron Church competed in the 800 meter run.
Leslie Corman competed in the 1600 meter run.
The 4 x 400 meter relay team earned seventh place points with their time of 4:17.8.
The 4 x 800 meter relay team finished in ninth place.
Williams secured fouth place points in the triple jump covering 36’8”.
Griffis, Harrison and McLaughlin competed in the shot put.
The Raiders open the outdoor season at the Deshler Twilight meet today (Thursday). The team travels to Kenesaw Tuesday for the Kenesaw Invitational.
