The Kansas Department of Transportation approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects. The letting took place Feb. 21, in Topeka. Mitchell County had one bid approved: K-14, bridge No. 040 over Salt Creek located 2.52 miles north of the Lincoln County line, bridge repair, L & M Contractors Inc., Great Bend, $627,960.50.
Another bid was for the K-14 modernization project to reconstruct and add shoulders from K-140 north to I-70 west interchange in Ellsworth County, $29 million.
