Love my crazy life

The goal of keeping the house clean has failed. The boys were here over the weekend. Between the trip to Omaha on Friday and the trip on Sunday, not a thing was accomplished over the weekend. It’s not bad from the outside looking in, but I have a pile of dishes and several little piles of pet hair floating around. I’m not sure where the pile of dishes came from. A sink full just magically appeared overnight. It’s nothing an hour of my attention won’t take care of but still, housework is never ending and I find that annoying.

We stopped at a department store while in Omaha on Sunday. George needed a shirt and a belt for the wedding. He has lost quite a bit of weight so what he had in the closet wasn’t going to cut it. We went in fully intending on only a shirt and belt and walked out with a full suit. I was more than a little shocked when he picked up a suit coat and tried it on. I think he was trying to be silly because it was grey and pink plaid, but silly as it was it looked nice on him. He settled on a grey suit with a white shirt. I was a little disappointed that he didn’t get the plaid. I really liked that one. LOL!

I’ve been breaking in a new pair of heels a few hours at a time every day. It’s more like breaking my feet. I can’t tell you when I wore heels last, but it’s been a while, and for a person who doesn’t wear heels often, I sure have a lot of them. I used to wear heels quite often, more than 20 years ago, I waited tables in the things several days a week. It’s a bit like riding a bike. You don’t forget how you just wonder why you ever did it in the first place. So if your going by our house and see me wobbling around in the yard, think nothing of it, but if you see me laying in the yard, send help!

Last but not least, I have exciting news! I’ve been waiting impatiently to tell, well just about anyone. Robert and Julia ran off and got married without telling anyone! They got married on Sept. 9, and didn’t tell me until Thanksgiving. I was the only one they told besides their witnesses. It was a difficult secret to keep. I guess they were afraid that we parents wouldn’t approve, even though I had told Robert to marry her the first time I met her. LOL!

The only reason they told me is because when they were home for Thanksgiving we were talking about weddings and such and I guess I made them feel guilty so after they had left the house, they called to tell me. At first, I was a little upset, but that only lasted a minute or so. I wish I could have been there, but I am happy for the two of them.

Pray for rain, and my poor feet, X’s & O’s.
