Bob, our cat, is a horrible influence on Duke. Besides taunting him and getting him in trouble, he has introduced him to the “water fountain” in the bathroom. So now instead of fighting with the kids over bathroom time, I fight with the cat and dog over the toilet! It wouldn’t be that big of a deal, except the bathroom door refuses to close properly now, and the two of them know it and can get it open. So anytime I use the toilet, I have a cat trying to get in my lap and a giant dog attempting to do the same.
I have my first bug bite of the season, near my ankle, and it was itching all night long. I’m guessing I got a spider in the pajama pants that I threw on the floor in my rush to get dressed yesterday, When I put them on getting ready for bed last night, I scared the little bugger and he gave me a farewell gift on his way out. My parents told me not to leave my clothes on the floor, but somehow it never sank in. At this point in my life, it probably never will.
Jack and Nicky both came down for a visit last weekend. Jack was refusing to ride in the “tiny” car so I stayed behind so everyone would be comfortable on the ride back. On Saturday we took them out to dinner, and if Jack wanted to eat, he had to get into the car with the three of us. On the way to dinner, he commented that it wasn’t that horrible, but wouldn’t be comfortable for a long trip.
On Sunday, George wasn’t feeling the best, so we decided I should ride along just in case I needed to drive home. I volunteered to sit in the back. Jack scooted his seat up until he knees were in the dash, and Nicky sat behind his dad, who had his seat back most of the way. That left me with more leg room than anyone in the car. It wasn’t the best trip ever, but it wasn’t the worst. The funny thing was, after all the complaining about the little car, by Sunday Jack was saying he wanted one. Kids!
Spring is almost here! I can’t wait to complain about the mosquitoes and heat! X’s & O’s.
