March is the beginning of another Match Month for the Community Foundation in Jewell County. And this year, as the foundation gears up for the month-long event, it also prepares for its biggest fundraising campaign yet.
For the first time ever, Jewell County Community Foundation is increasing its Match Month goal to $70,000. JCCF is eligible for match funds from both the Dane G. Hansen Foundation and the Patterson Family Foundation. The Dane G. Hansen Foundation will match 2:1 up to $50,000. The Patterson Family Foundation will 1:1 match up to $70,000. All funds raised go into JCCF’s unrestricted fund and are used to fund charitable projects throughout Jewell County. JCCF has awarded nearly $463,000 in grants to Jewell County projects over the past five years, thanks mainly to Match Month contributions.
Kyra Lampe, coordinator commented, “The stakes for Match Month have never been higher. Last year, in our most successful Match Month ever, we raised more than $76,000. It empowered us to think bigger and think about the good of Jewell County for future generations. We want to leave a legacy for our children and grandchildren to be proud of. The community we create today is the community we are handing over to the next generation, so why not make it the best it can be?”
All donations are tax-deductible. Gifts may be sent to the Jewell County Community Foundation, PO Box 154, Mankato, Kansas 66956, or donated online at https://bit.ly/3uyOG6i no later than March 31, 2024.
