The Jewell County Spelling Bee was held on Wednesday, Feb. 7, at Rock Hills Junior-Senior High School. Yaremi Cruz was the champion speller and Catelyn Rothchild the runner-up. Cruz is eligible to participate in the Sunflower Spelling Bee scheduled for Saturday, March 23.
