The Jewell County commissioners met Jan. 16, with commissioners Keith Roe, Ed Duskie and Brent Beck and Carla Waugh, county clerk, present for the meeting.
Shannon Meier, ambulance director, reviewed the monthly activity report and billing report for December. Commissioners approved to write-off $6,614.16 for the last quarter of 2023 for EMS as uncollectable.
Commissioners approved Resolution 24-01 for 2024 Rural Opportunity Zone program and Resolution 24-02 GAAP Financial Waiver for 2024.
P.J. Garst, solid waste director, discussed purchasing chains for a truck. Carla Waugh reviewed the budget process with Garst. She also reviewed the cash basis law.
Sherry Koster, Soil Conservation District, gave the commissioners an invitation to the Concordia Management Unit Local Work Group Meeting on Jan. 31.
