Rock Hills Boys hit a rough patch

The Rock Hills Grizzlies’ recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 45-39 hit at the hands of Lincoln.

The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rock Hills in their matchups with Lincoln; they’ve now lost four in a row.

Rock Hills lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cooper McDill, who scored 15 points. That was a full 38.5 percent of Rock Hills’ points, marking the sixth time in a row he’s earned more than a third of the team’s points. Another player making a difference was Cam Ward, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Eli Whelchel scored nine points. Tristyn Renolds, Justin Luong, Ethan WirthTy Vance each added two points to the score.

Even though they lost, Rock Hills worked as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists: the most assists they’ve managed all season.

Rock Hills bumped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Lincoln, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.

Rock Hills vs Lawrence-Nelson

Rock Hills squared off against Lawrence-Nelson, Monday. L-N has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they’ve increased their point totals each of their last four games.

The Lawrence-Nelson Raiders defeated the Grizzlies 47-23 in a non-conference game.
