Some of the boys on this year's boys' basketball team may not have been born the last time the L-N Raiders won their first four games of a season. You have to go back 14 years before you find a year where the first four games were won. That was the 2009-2010 year when they won their first 7 games.

OK, last week the Raiders defeated Franklin on Friday night by a score of 34 to 27 and Bruning-Davenport-Shickley (BDS) on Saturday evening by a score of 37 to 24. The two victories give L-N a 4-0 record for the young season.
BOYS: L-N 34 - FRANKLIN 27
The box score:
L-N 7 5 11 11 - 34
Franklin 4 10 10 3 - 27
This low scoring game had all the drama in it that a person might want. The score was tied at least five times and the lead changed hands at least seven times before the Raiders went ahead 26 to 24 early in the 4th period.
L-N started the game with a strong defensive effort and committing few turnovers and having assists for their baskets. Franklin turned the heat up a notch in the second period with a full court press and earned a 2-pt. lead at half time with a 'buzzer-beater' shot.
L-N made half of their points at the charity stripe in the third period leading to a decisive final eight minutes of play.
The final 8 minutes were won by the defense. Scoring was needed of course, but Franklin was held scoreless for over the first 4 minutes of the period and were allowed only three points over the 8 minute period. Sawyer Cox scored the first points of this period and L-N took advantage of a number of turnovers they forced from Franklin. L-N had a rebound edge over the Flyers as well.
