A full house of Mankato community citizens attended a Christmas party Saturday. Most everyone wore different kinds of "Ugly Christmas Sweaters." Even Santa showed up. The house had four Christmas trees, Nut Crackers, delightful decorations and holiday music. People played games that gathered the crowd together bringing a lot of laughter. The tables were filled with delicious potluck dishes, desserts and a variety of Christmas candy and treats. Outside was a warm fire pit burning. Ebenezer Scrooge was there grumbling his usual displeasure of "Ba Humbug." It was a sight to be seen.
Rich Bertrand and Lynn Huebner sponsored this event in their home. People were having so much fun it lasted until 2:30 a.m. It was such a gift to have people like Bertrand and Huebner to start off the Christmas season in the privacy of their home. No one was judged for their "Ugly Christmas Sweater." It was not a competition. It was about bringing the community together this Christmas season 2023.
