In years past, the December Bloodmobile visit to Lawrence was looked upon as an opportunity for local residents to give a Christmas Gift to some unknown, needy person.
The Red Cross set a goal of 42 units for Lawrence this year. However, area residents came out in force and donated a total of 54 units to the Red Cross to use as it seemed best. Two donors were deferred for medical reasons.
Co-ordinators for the Lawrence Red Cross visits are Jackie Kirchner and Eileen Mazour.
Out of those 54 donors, six people reached a gallon mark of some kind. They are: Bob Kotinek, 11 gallons; Lyle Kohmetscher, 10 gallons; Mark Haba, 1 gallon; Jami Kirchner, 1 gallon; Michael Buescher, 15 gallons; Sheryl Buescher 15 gallons.
