SVFD responds to early range fire

Members of the Superior Volunteer Fire Department got an early wake-up call Monday morning. They were called to 1255 Idaho Street where a home was reported to be on fire.

Most likely as the firemen sped to the scene they were remembering the call the week before which left two people homeless. What would they find when they reached he home of Sandy Martin and her children. Would the house be engulfed in flames like the house had been on North Park Street just more than a week earlier?

This time the news was much better. The fire was out before the first truck arrived and the occupants were not injured.

The firemen stayed on the scene ridding the house of smoke and making sure the fire was not hiding, waiting for an opportunity to roar to life.

The report indicates the fire was related to the home’s kitchen range.
