The 2023-24 Superior High School girls basketball opened their season Monday evening when they hosted a jamboree against Southern Valley. Chrissy Ehlers and Kirch Utecht coach the team. It's that time of the year when volleyball morphs into basketball for the Superior High School girls basketball team. The team opens their 2023-2024 season today (Thursday) at Sutton. They entertain the Republic County Buffaloes at the high school gymnasium Saturday. The Fairbury Jeffs visit Superior Tuesday.
Senior class representatives on the roster are Madison Heusinkvelt and Lilly Edwards.
The junior class contributes Sadie Cornell, Halle Bargen, Rayne Biltoft and Faith Butler.
Ariana Heusinkvelt and Ava Kirchhoff make up the sophomore class contingent.
The freshman class is well represented with Maddi Bargen, Thalia Griljava, Evah Roberts, Olivia Eitzmann, Olivia Smullins, Raven Large, Reagan Meyers and Taryn Zimmerman.
Student managers are Kylie Meyers, Ella Meyer, Allie Jeffery, Stella Frahm and Deacon Bargen.
Chrissy Ehlers, head coach, and Kirk Utecht, assistant coach, are looking for the underclassmen to step up to replace the graduated starters. The team finished with a 20-5 record last season.
