On Nov. 11, the world bid farewell to a true character, Jim Murray, 66, who left this earthly realm for what we believe is a celestial fishing trip, leaving behind a legacy of caring, love and unforgettable memories. Born on Dec. 4th, 1956, he was a beacon of kindness and strength to all who knew him.
Jim was a man of remarkable character and had a heart the size of Texas. His unwavering devotion to his family, his unrelenting work ethic in the plethora of businesses he started and ran, and his genuine kindness toward everyone he met were just a few facets of his rich personality.
He approached life with a unique blend of humor and wisdom. His witty remarks and clever observations could light up any room, bringing laughter and joy to those around him. His knack for storytelling made even the simplest anecdotes epic tales and his charm could disarm nearly anyone.
Beyond his humor, Jim was deeply passionate about wrestling, fishing and basically anything his wife and children took an interest in. Whether he was scouring wrestling tapes for the newest coaching techniques or testing every lure known to man in an attempt to catch fish, his dedication and enthusiasm were an inspiration to all who knew him.
He leaves behind a legacy of laughter and joy, survived by his wife of 46 years, Bernice; his children, Scott and fiancé Michelle, Matt and wife Meghan, Melissa and wife Shanae; grandchildren Mia, Breckson, and Brynn; sisters Kathy and Kristy; brothers John and Kevin; as well as a large extended family.
In honoring his memory, a celebration of his life will be held on Dec. 2, 2023. In lieu of tears, the family would prefer everyone in attendance truly celebrate and keep the laughter alive. He wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
Though he may have left the stage, the echoes of his laughter will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of sharing a joke, story or a smile with him.
His love and guidance will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
