Otero named to NC extension board

The Nuckolls County Board of Commissioners met at the county courthouse in Nelson Monday. All three commissioners were present.

The board approved the naming of Julie Otero to the Nuckolls County Extension Board of Directors.

The board approved one of two utility permits for Carl Elting. The board tabled the other application to obtain more information.

The board heard from Terry Madson and Phil Wehrman regarding a water flow issue at the Madson residence.

The board accepted and approved the Nuckolls County comprehensive plan prepared by Five Rule.

Brad Slaughter from First National Capital presented the board with bond financing information should they decide to move forward with the construction of a new county administration building.

Grant Creager with CGID, an architectural firm, will meet with county officers to determine the amount of space each office would require in a new building.

The courthouse will be closed today (Thursday) and Friday. It will reopen for regular business Monday.

The board will meet at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at the county courthouse.
