Steven Rakosky

Steven Wayne “Steve” Rakosky, age 63, of Grand Island died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2023.

To honor Steve’s wishes cremation was chosen. All Faiths Funeral Home served the family.

Steve was born April 6, 1960, in Ord, Nebraska, the son of Wayne and Barbara (Klanecky) Rakosky. He grew up in Loup City, graduating from Loup City High School, Class of 1978.

On Sept. 19, 1981, he married Barbara Joy. They had met while both were employed at Fonner Park. Steve had also worked at Mid-America Dairymen, Inc. at Superior. He then got his CNA license and was employed with Good Samaritan in Nelson, Nebraska. He later worked for the City of Nelson.

Steve enjoyed fireworks. The 4th of July was his Christmas. He and Barbara had a fireworks stand for 11 years. He also enjoyed going to concerts, of which KISS was a favorite. He was a Green Bay Packers fan.

Those who cherish Steve’s memory include his wife, Barbara; brother, Alan Rakosky; sisters, Cathy Slater and Carol Ichtertz.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
