RHHS volleyball

The Rock Hills High School volleyball team concluded a successful season. Even though they did not advance to the state tournament, they posted a winning record for the first time as well as defeating arch-rival St. John’s-Tipton for the first time. They fell to Decatur Community, 25-22 and 25-21, at Stockton, Saturday, in Class 1A- D1 sub-state play, to close out their season with a 21-15 record.

Rock Hills closed out their regular season schedule with a triangular match at Lincoln last Tuesday. The Grizzlies downed host Lincoln, 25-22 and 25-21, in two sets. They fell to St. John’s-Tipton, 25-15 and 25-13.

Halle Mizner led the killers against Lincoln with six. Savannah Coil loaded up five kills. Faith Reinert added three kills. Taygen Meier listed two kills while Dacey Beck had one kill.

Bethany Simmelink powered through three aces. Mizner lined through two aces, Ally Beck and Coil each scored with an ace.

Mizner collected 11 digs. A. Beck and Meier produced eight digs apiece. D. Beck accounted for seven digs. Reinert added four digs. Coil was good for two digs. Peyton Zadina had one dig.

Mizner posted five kills against St. John’s-Tipton. Coil had one kill.

Coil and Mizner each scored with an ace.

Simmelink joined in with 11 digs. D. Beck manufactured nine digs. Reinert collected eight digs. Mizner floated seven digs. Meier kept four digs. Coil gathered in three digs. Grace Ayers had a dig.

Mizner was credited with three kills against Decatur. Coil and Simmelink had one kill each.

Mizner lashed through three aces. A. Beck had one ace.

A. Beck and D. Beck grubbed up 19 digs each. Simmelink rogued out 15 digs. Reinert took care of nine digs. Mizner handled seven digs. Meier accounted for three digs. Coil gathered two digs. Zadina had one dig.

For senior Grace Ayers, it was her final game as a Grizzly. The future looks bright for the team as they return an experienced group to the court next season. Well done, team, for a great season.
