The L-N Raiders earned the right to advance in the Class D-2 Football Playoff system last week by winning their first game. The second round has all 16 survivors put in a single bracket with the top point team playing the lowest point team, etc.
L-N is the 13 seeded team and they will play No. 4 seeded, South Loop at 5 p.m. Friday, in Callaway.
South Loop is a cooperative sports program for Callaway Public Schools and Arnold Public Schools. They have had a cooperative sports program since 2007.
According to the Nebraska Schools Activities Association, South Loop has been in the playoffs eight times and have a combined record of 9 wins and 8 losses over those years. In 2017, they were Class D-1 runner-up. However, their recent record has been interesting. In 2020 they were 0-8; in 2021 they were 1-7; in 2022 they were 5-3 and for the regular season in 2023, they were 8-0.
