Larry Griffith, 73, of Salina, died Oct. 11, 2023.
Larry was born on Sept. 3, 1950, in York, Nebraska, to Colleen Row- ley and Earl Griffith. When he was 21, Larry joined the US Marine Corps and served seven years as an aircraft mechanic. As a staff sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, Larry served in Okinawa, Japan. He was a decorated veteran who was awarded a Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Rifle Sharpshooter Badge and a Letter of Appreciation.
When he wasn't working, Larry had a passion for traveling and residing in his recreational vehicle. He lived in many interesting recreational vehicle campsites and befriended numerous people along his travels. He enjoyed having coffee and sharing stories with his campsite neighbors. Larry never had a definite plan as to where he was headed next but to him, that was just part of the adventure.
Larry was predeceased by his parents, Colleen and Walter Rowley, Earl Griffith; brother, Kelly Griffith; sister, Julie Moore; brother, Danny Griffith; and daughter, Kimberly Griffith.
Larry is survived by his brother, Jeffery Griffith; son, Jason (Rhiannon) Griffith; daughters: Melissa Garcia, Christy Griffith, Brandi van Oudheusden, Katie (Barry) Watkins and Jade Griffith; step-daughter, Amber (David) Clark- 12 grandchildren: Teresa and Felix-Michael, Samantha and Aspen, Tristan and Ember, Olivia and Hannah, Rayne, Gemma, Sean and Austyn; and six great-grandchildren: Gabriella, Isabella and Ilai, James and Harper, Anniston.
His funeral will be announced at a later date.
