The Lawrence-Nelson High School volleyball team downed the Blue Hill Bobcats in three sets, 25-22, 25-12 and 25-18, last Tuesday at Blue Hill.
The Raiders hosted a triangular match at Lawrence, Thursday. They downed High Plains Community, 25-22 and 25-19, in two sets.The Bruning-Davenport-Shickley Eagles handed the Raiders a two set, 9-25 and 10-25, loss.
Lawrence-Nelson downed Silver Lake in two sets, 25-20 and 22-25, at the Twin Valley Conference match Saturday. Red Cloud avenged an earlier loss to the Raiders with a two-set, 16-25 and 21-25, sweep. The Raiders closed out their regular season schedule, Tuesday, with a triangular match against Giltner and Franklin at Giltner. Match results were unavailable at press time.
Kara Menke and Hanna Skinner led the killers against Blue Hill with 10 apiece. Sydney Biltoft acoounted for seven kills. Josie Hajny and Natalia Wehrman each recorded a kill.
Biltoft filtered through four aces. Addi McCloskey and Jessica Sole laced through two aces apiece. Val Koehler and Hanna Skinner each scored with an ace.
Koehler led the diggers with 11. McCloskey was good for 10 digs. Menke produced nine digs. Skinner landed eight digs. Biltoft lifted out seven digs. Sole collected three digs. Hajny and Wehrman had two digs each.
Biltoft, Menke and Skinner led the killers with five apiece against High Plains.
Biltoft served up three aces. Brook Combs, McCloskey and Skinner each scored with an ace. Koehler and Skinner came through with eight digs each. Biltoft tossed up six digs. McCloskey and Sole popped up three digs each. Hajny and Menke had two digs each.
Biltoft and Menke listed two kills apiece against B-D-S. Hajny and Skinner had a kill apiece. McCloskey scored with an ace.
Menke recorded eight digs for the match. Biltoft was credited with six digs. Koehler and McCloskey added four digs each. Skinner listed three digs. Sole landed two digs while Wehrman had one.
Menke topped the kill chart against Silver Lake with 12. Biltoft posted six kills. Skinner took care of five kills. Hajny had four kills.
Biltoft and Menke lined through two aces apiece. Skinner and Sole scored with an ace apiece.
McCloskey dug the ball out on 11 occasions. Biltoft handled 10 digs. Menke played nine digs. Skinner and Sole took care of five digs each. Combs and Hajny had two digs each.
Biltoft piled up seven kills against Red Cloud. Skinner was a killer six times. Menke put up five kills. Hajny added two kills.
McCloskey punched through two aces. Biltoft and Menke lined through an ace apiece.
Skinner was good for 13 digs. McCloskey collected 10 digs. Menke listed eight digs. Biltoft added four digs. Koehler jumped in with three digs. Hajny had one dig.
The Raiders will look to earn a place in the district finals when they compete in the sub-district D2-6 match at a site to be announced Monday. Other schools at the match will be Giltner, Harvard and Shelton. The Shelton Bulldogs are the big roadblock with a 20 win season and having previously defeated the Raiders.
