RHHS cross country

The Rock Hills High School cross country team is enjoying success in their first season.

The team traveled to Lincoln, Thursday, for the Lincoln Invitational.

The boys team brought home a second place finish in the nine team field.

The runners faced a challenging course with small steep hills as well as long medium grade hills. A strong northwest wind did not work in their favor.

The team knew the course would be hilly and adjusted their training beforehand.

Hannah Simmelink continues her strong season with a sixth place finish. Chloe Rothchild finished in 19th place.

Trystin Reynolds led the boys team with his ninth place finish. Kobi Bowers was in 13th place. Spencer Lindberg followed in 14th place. Cruz Navarro held down 21st place with Noah Eakins trailing in 22nd place. Kiplee Kussman held 24th place while Treyton Reynolds was in 25th place.

It's a remarkable season for all the runners. Only three runners had previous cross country experience. Their hard work in paying off.

The Grizzlies compete at Downs Thursday at the Northern Plains League and Lakeside Invitational meet hosted by Lakeside High School.
