Superior retail sales up 3.7% in June

The Nebraska Department of Revenue has published a report showing retail sales for June 2023 for cities and counties and comparing those sales to the same time in 2022.

Retail sales in both Nuckolls County and the City of Superior were up when compared to last year, however, they were not up as much as they were in some nearby communities and counties.

Superior businesses reported retail sales of nearly $2.638 million this year for increase of 3.7 percent over the same period in 2022. County wide the sales grew to nearly $4.165 million which was an increase of 5.2 percent.

Webster County and the City of Red Cloud both reported a decline. Red Cloud’s retail sales dropped 20.8 percent to $844,739. County-wide the retail sales dropped 12.8 percent to just more than $1.668 million.

Thayer County sales grew 14.9 percent to just more than $4 million. Hebron’s sales grew 4.2 percent to more than $1.884 million.

Clay County sales were up only 1.3 percent to slightly more than $2.508 million while Sutton’s sales soared 33.5 percent to nearly $1.576 million.

In Adams County the increase county-wide and for the city of Hastings grew about 4 percent. County sales exceeded $45.738 million for a growth of 4.1 percent. Hastings sales were approximately $44.620 million for a growth of 4.2 percent.

Fillmore County’s sales grew 15.2 percent to nearly $4.940 million. Geneva’s sales soared 22.7 percent to more than $2.834 million.
