JoAnn Rogers

JoAnn Rogers, the daughter of Louie Jr. and Ruth Ann (Barry) Hasemeyer, was born on Sept. 27, 1952, in Superior, Nebraska. She died Sept. 24, 2023, at the Superior Good Samaritan Society at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 70 years, 11 months, 28 days.

JoAnn attended school at the Pleasant Valley and Valley View School and Valley View grade schools and graduated from Superior High School with the Class of 1971. She went on to attend Joseph’s College of Beauty in Hastings, Nebraska and returned to Superior where she owned and operated the Superior House of Beauty for 47 years. On May 9, 1981, she was united in marriage to John Rogers. To this union two sons, Eric and Travis, were born. JoAnn attended the Olive Hill Church as a child and was a 42-year member of the First Presbyterian Church in Superior. She had a love for the outdoors and any kind of animal. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening and especially going to her grandchildren’s events.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Ruth; a brother, Jerry; her parents-in-law, Don and Eva Rogers; sister-in-law, Pat Holling; and brothers-in-law, Bob Strnad and Arlyce Cox.

She is survived by her husband, John, of Superior; sons, Eric and wife, Brandy, of Juniata, Nebraska, and Travis and wife, McKenzie, of Hastings; six grandchildren: Emile, Tayte and Lex and Bentley, Easton and Hudson. She is also survived by siblings, Rosemary, Rosemarie, Sherry and Gary Hasemeyer, all of Superior, and Janice Ward and friend, Shon Augustin, of Kenesaw; sisters-in-law, Rae Tumbleson and husband, Jeff, of Superior, Diane Cox of Belleville, Kansas, Reta Boswell of Superior; brothers-in-law, Keith Rogers and wife, Susan, of Superior, and Dick Holling of Superior; along with a host of nieces, nephews and many, many friends.

A celebration of life will be held from 12 to 2 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the First Presbyterian Church fellowship hall in Superior with Pastor Lori E. L. Kitzing assisting. Everyone that wishes is invited to stop by during those hours and visit with the family and share in the memories.

A private family interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior.

The family would suggest that in lieu of floral arrangements, they would request memorials to go towards the First Presbyterian Church or the Superior Volunteer Fire Department.
