Commissioners accept resignations

Don Jacobs, sheriff, reported a dispatcher resigned.

Travis Garst, solid waste director, said he had been working on a 5-year management plan. He has worked on the drainage system, semi-shed and relocated the fuel barrel. He discussed the process for getting the hail repair completed. Travis then provided a copy of Alan Davis’s resignation letter effective Sept. 16. Travis also presented his resignation letter effective Oct. 5, as solid waste director.

The commissioners went into executive session for 10 minutes to discuss non-elected personnel with Carla Waugh present. When the regular session resumed, the commissioners directed Carla Waugh, county clerk, to place ads for the solid waste director position.

Commissioners passed Resolution 23-05, opposing the Federal Government’s “30X30” Land Preservation Goal.

Joel Elkins, general superintendent, said he talked to Alex Pierce, county attorney, concerning the issue on the bridge in Vicksburg Township. Alex would prepare a letter.
