L-N 2023 Homecoming
Homecoming for the Lawrence Nelson Raiders is Friday Oct. 6. This year the homecoming royalty will be as follows:
Freshman representatives, Hadley Ostdiek, daughter of Chad and Alishia Ostdiek, and Jackson Williams, son of Lance and Katie Williams. Sophomore representatives are Harley Beale, daughter of Richard and Emma Rennick, and Owen Smiley, son of Mike and Angela Menke.
Junior representatives are Addi McCloskey, daughter of Dustin and Nicole Cassell, and Hayden Mazour, son of Phil and Denise Mazour.
The kindergarten crown bearers are Kynslee Janda, daughter of Phil and Michelle Janda, and Nash Schroer, son of Ryan and Jaycee Schroer
2023 homecoming queen candidates are Sydney Biltoft, Bailey Ceder, Claire Himmelberg and Jessica Sole. King candidates are Bayln Bargen, Conner Janda, Nolan Ostdiek and Clay Williams.
Sydney Biltoft is the daughter of Jason Biltoft and Lesli Sole, and sister to Brenna, Colton and Trevor. She is involved in volleyball, basketball, track, FFA and One Act, and is the senior class president, vice president of atudent council, and HOSA secretary.
Outside of school, Sydney is involved in 4-H. In her free time she enjoys her time with family and friends, eating Mexican food, listening to music, and staying active in her community. She is undecided on a college but plans to pursue a career in occupational therapy.
Bailey Ceder is the daughter of Aaron and Jessica Ceder, and sister to Coy. She is involved in National Honor Society, quiz bowl, golf and student council, and is the FFA president and HOSA vice president.
Outside of school she is involved in the American Quarter Horse Association and in her free time enjoys riding and showing horses, being outside, hunting, fishing and time with friends and family. She plans to attend the University of Wyoming or Oklahoma State University to study animal science, and hopes to continue her horse show career collegiately.
Claire Himmelberg is the daughter of Randy and Beth Himmelberg, and sister to Trey and Jessie. She is involved in National Art Honor Society, National Honor Society, volleyball, student council, club volleyball, and FCA.
Outside of school she is involved as a member of both the Lawrence and Nelson golf clubs, and a member of the American Legion. In her free time she enjoys napping, riding horses and art. She plans to attend the College of Hair Design in Lincoln and become licensed in cosmetology.
Jessica Sole is the daughter of Andrew and Kasey Vaughn and Dwight Sole, and sister to Jordin, Carson, Jaxen and Isabella. She is the student council treasurer and is also involved in volleyball, basketball, track, National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, HOSA and Teammates.
She enjoys time with friends and shopping impulsively in her free time, and plans on continuing her education in North Carolina to pursue a career in nursing.
Bayln Bargen is the son of Ben and Casey Bargen, and brother to Freya, Brittyn, Mayz and Remy. He is a captain of the football team and is involved in National Art Honor Society, National Honor Society, golf, student council and basketball. He is a member of the Superior Golf Course, and in his free time he enjoys playing games, eating, sleeping and hunting. He plans to attend the College of Hair Design to studying barbering.
Connor Janda is the son of Phil and Michelle Janda, and brother to Samantha, Blake and Kynslee. He is the senior class vice president, president of FBLA, president of student council, and a captain of both the football and basketball teams. He is also involved in golf, FFA, FCA and 4-H. In his free time he enjoys watching Husker sports and is considering a future career in agribusiness.
Nolan Ostdiek is the son of Ken and Shannon Ostdiek and brother to McKenzie. He is involved in FFA, FCA, football, track, basketball and National Honor Society, and is the treasurer of FBLA.
Outside of school he is involved in CCD and enjoys working and playing video games with his friends. He plans to attend SCC to pursue a career in diversified ag.
Clay Williams is the son of Lance and Katie Williams and brother to Jack, Stella and Hazel. He is the vice president of FBLA and is also involved in football, basketball, golf and FCA.
He enjoys shooting hoops, playing XBox, and hanging out with his friends and brother in his free time and plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln or the University of Kansas. He has not decided on a major.
The parade will begin at two in the afternoon and start on the west side of the grade school in Lawrence and make its way down mainstreet and end at the football field where the pep rally will then take place.
Starting at 6 p.m., there will be a meal deal by the FFA. The coranation will follow the football game.
Schedule of events
Tuesday: Pajama Day. No hats.
Wednesday: Dress like a staff member.
Thursday: Senior Citizen Day.
Friday: Raider Pride Day
2 p.m.: Parade begins on west side of school, ends at football field
6 p.m.: Meal deal by FFA
7p.m.: Raiders vs. Mustangs
At the end of game coronation will be on the football field
9 p.m. - 12 a.m.: Homecoming dance at elementary school in Lawrence
