Lilly Edwards and Madison Heusinkvelt take ownership of the net for Superior in recent volleyball action against Fillmore Central.
The Superior High School volleyball team swept the Sutton Mustangs in three sets, 25-16, 25-18 and 25-22, at the high school gymnasium last Tuesday.
Superior traveled to Alma Saturday for a triangular match. They downed Blue Hill 25-6 and 25-20 in two sets. They swept Alma in sets, 25-22 and 25-17.
The Wildcats visited Cairo, Tuesday, for a match with Centura with results unavailable at press time.
Reagan Meyers pushed down 13 kills against Sutton. Teegan Duncan and Halle Bargen listed five kills apiece for the match. Lilly Edwards, Ariana Heusinkvelt and Madison Heusinkvelt recorded three kills each. Faith Butler had one kill.
Bargen and Butler zip-lined through two aces apiece. Duncan scored an ace.
Bargen hit the deck for 16 digs. Duncan accumulated 15 digs. Butler handled 14 digs with A. Heusinkvelt turning in seven digs. Mia Gardner added three digs. Lilly Edwards and Madison Heusinkvelt had one dig each.
Meyers led the Wildcat killers against Blue Hill with eight. Duncan added five kills. A. Heusinkvelt jammed down three kills. Cora Schnakenberg added two kills. Bargen, Cayce Barry and Edwards had one kill apiece.
Meyers lined through three aces while Bargen and A. Heusinkvelt poured through two aces apiece. Duncan and Mia Gardner scored with an ace apiece.
Duncan shoveled out nine digs for the Wildcats. Bargen collected seven digs. Meyers scooped up six digs. A. Heusinkvelt handled five digs. Gardner added four digs. M. Heusinkvelt had one dig.
Meyers was once again the top killer for Superior against Blue Hill with nine. A. Heusinkvelt took down six kills. Bargen, Duncan and M. Heusinkvelt were responsible for two kills each.
Duncan led the ace parade with two. Bargen and Gardner slid through an ace apiece.
Bargen cleaned up with 10 digs. Butler and Duncan claimed nine digs each. Meyers chipped in with eight digs. A. Heusinkvelt added three digs. Gardner finished the match with a solo dig.
The Wildcats host Fairbury at the high school gymnasium today (Thursday). Superior competes at the Adams Central Tournament at Hastings Saturday. Superior plays in the opening round of the Hastings St. Cecilia Tournament Tuesday.
