The Superior High School volleyball team recorded a win last Tuesday with their three set, 25-16. 25-12 and 25-14 sweep of Fillmore Central at Hebron.
Superior retained their Nuckolls County bragging rights when they swept Lawrence-Nelson, at Lawrence, in three sets, 26-24, 25-17 and 25-18. Thursday.
The Wildcats faced the Class C1 Aurora Huskies in their opening match of the Beatrice Invitational, at Beatrice, Saturday. They emerged with a two-set, 25-22 and 25-18 sweep. It took the Class B Elkhorn Antlers three sets, 25-20, 11-25 and 22-25, to hand the wildcats a loss. They handed host Class B Beatrice a two-set, 25-19 and 25-23, loss, to bring their season record to 4-2.
The Wildcats competed at a triangular match with Doniphan-Trumbull and Kenesaw, at Kenesaw, Tuesday, with match results unavailable at press time.
Reagan Meyers dominated at the net with 17 kills against Fillmore Central. Ariana Heusinkvelt stepped up with 10 kills. Teegan Duncan chipped in eight kills. Halle Bargen and Madison Heusinkvelt accounted for three kills apiece. Lilly Edwards added two kills. Cayce Barry and Cora Schnakenberg had one kill each.
A. Heusinkvelt sliced through four aces. Meyers lined through three aces. Bargen added two aces while Faith Butler scored with one ace.
Bargen and Butler scoured the court for 14 digs each. Duncan collected 11 digs, Meyers claimed eight digs. Mia Gardner added six digs for Superior. Edwards and A heusinkvelt landed two digs apiece while M. Heusinkvelt finished the match with one dig.
Meyers was again the top killer for the wildcats against Lawrence-Nelson with 13. Duncan put up 10 kills. M. Heusinkvelt took care of four kills. Bargen listed three kills. Butler and Edwards had a kill each.
A, Heusinkvelt slashed through three aces. Duncan and Meyers put in two aces apiece.
Bargen cleaned up with 18 digs. Butler and A. Heusinkvelt produced nine digs each. Meyers listed eight digs. Duncan handled seven digs. Gardner posted four digs. M. Heusinkvelt had two digs while Edwards had one dig.
Meyers acquired eight kills against Aurora. Duncan netted six kills. Edwards and M. Heusinkvelt put up three kills apiece. Bargen chipped in two kills. Butler and A. Heusinkvelt finished the match with a kill each.
Meyers lined through two aces. Butler and A. Heusinkvelt scored with an ace apiece.
Bargen and Duncan found their way to 12 digs each. Butler and Meyers added four digs each. Edwards and A. Heusinkvelt came away with three digs apiece. Gardner and M. Heusinkvelt had one dig each.
Meyers was the lead Superior killer against Elkhorn Valley with eight. Duncan claimed five kills. A. Heusinkvelt and M. Heusinkvelt pounded down three kills each. Butler recorded two kills.
Meyers slashed through three aces. Duncan, Gardner and A. Heusinkvelt each scored with an ace.
A. Heusinkvelt cleaned up the floor with 16 digs. Gardner and Meyers jumped in with 10 digs apiece. Butler and Dun can claimed five digs each. A. Heusinkvelt added four digs. M. Heusinkvelt listed three digs. Edwards finished the match with two digs.
Meyers recorded nine kills against Beatrice. Duncan posted five kills. Bargen and A. Heusinkvelt added four kills apiece. M. Heusinkvelt was good for two kills.
Butler and A. Heusinkvelt each scored with an ace.
Butler slid her way to 13 dig s. Duncan cleaned up 12 digs. Bargen got to nine digs. Gardner and Meyers accounted for two digs each.
Superior travels to Shickley, today (Thursday), for a match with the Bruning-Davenport-Shickley Eagles. The Wildcats travel to Sandy Creek, Saturday, for the four team Sandy Creek Invitational. Other teams competing at the event are Fillmore Central, Meridian, Ravenna, Shelby-Rising City and Sandy Creek. Superior will host Sutton at the high school gymnasium Tuesday.
