James Rohan

James Joseph Rohan, the son of George and Pauline (Krick) Rohan, was born on May 20, 1952, in Spalding, Nebraska. He died Aug. 22, 2023, at Mary Lanning Healthcare at Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 71 years, 3 months, 2 days.

Jim was one of four children. He was a 1971 graduate of Spalding Academy and continued his education from Central Nebraska Technical College earning a vocational certificate of completion in heavy equipment technology in 1972. Three children were born from his union to Anne Flanigan. He later married Connie Mohler on May 5, 1990, at Superior, Nebraska. Together they celebrated 33 years together. Jim was a 5-year member of Living Faith Fellowship Church in Superior.

Jim enjoyed camping, boating and fishing. He traveled all over the U.S. driving many miles as a truck driver. He will be remembered for his sense of humor.

Throughout his lifetime, Jim lived in Spalding, Nebraska, Kingman, Kansas, Superior, and retiring in Hastings.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Pauline, and daughter, Melanie Jean Rohan.

Survivors include his wife, Connie of Hastings; son, Michael James (Jessica) also of Hastings; and daughter, Rachael Marie (Shanda) McLain of Harvard, Nebraska; granddaughter, Harper Paige Rohan; siblings: Margaret (Jack) Glassmaker of Novato, California; Dennis (Sue) Rohan of Williamsville, New York; Louis (Regina) Rohan of Ord, Nebraska; sisters-in-law: Vicki Bitterman, of Sutton, Nebraska; Julie (Bob) Jones of Kearney, Nebraska; brothers-in-law: Sam (Roberta) Mohler and Denny (Judy) Mohler all of Superior; Kenny (Susan) Mohler of Missoula, Montana; and Ron Mohler of Hastings; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

His funeral was held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 2, from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with the Rev. Jon Albrecht officiating.

Music was "Peace In The Valley," "When I Get Where I'm Going " and "It's 5'o'clock Somewhere."

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Pallbearers were Andrew Wortman, Phillip Goodall, Jeff Wallin, Casey Fielder, Ron Gentry and Mike Mohler. Honorary pallbearers were Ron Mohler, Mark Rohan, Ed Rohan and Donald Tyler.

Interment was in the Bostwick Cemetery at Bostwick.
