SHS 2023 Homecoming Schedule
Superior High School's homecoming theme this year is "Surfing Into a Victory." Special activities and dress for each day have been assigned by the student council.
Because there was no school Monday, activities began Tuesday. It was Hawaiian Shirt Day. A pep rally at was held at 11:15 a.m. with class competition for a Beach Ball Race. Each class needed 20 students to compete. Homecoming candidates were announced.
Besides the homecoming activities, other school events were also going on. The girls golf team vs. Doniphan-Trumbull was at Superior Country Club at 2 p.m.
Varsity volleyball team played at the Kenesaw Triangular at 5 p.m.
Wednesday, the theme was Color Day. Freshmen wore lime or light green. Sophomores wore light or bright blue. The juniors' color was pink. Seniors wore yellow. The class members had to have 3⁄4 of shirt their class color to be counted for points.
Activities for Wednesday were PAWS Competition - Lei Toss and a Hula Hoop Contest.
Today (Thursday) is Yacht Day. Suggested attire is polos, button-down shirts, nice sundresses, rompers, bucket hats and sunglasses.
The PAWS Competition for the day is a balloon race.
The girls golf team will play at Heartland Community Galaway Creek at 10 a.m.
Cross Country is at Fairbury at 4 p.m.
The volleyball team plays at 5 p.m. at Bruning-Davenport-Shickley at Shickley.
There is a junior high volleyball triangular at 4 p.m. at Superior.
Friday's theme is Wildcat Spirit (red, white and black) Day. Participants must be wearing all three colors on outfit to be counted
Parents' Pep Rally is at 2:51 p.m. (8th period) where winners of the class competition and spirit stick will be presented
The Homecoming Parade downtown Superior's Main street will be at 4 p.m.
The football game against Kenesaw Blue Devils is at 7 p.m.
Coronation of king and queen will follow the football game.
The dance will be from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the cafeteria. The doors will be locked at 11:30 p.m. High school students only can attend the dance. Pizza and snacks will be provided in the cafeteria. Admission is $5 per person.
