The Thayer Central Tittans handed the Superior Wildcats volleyball team a three set, 25-15, 25-17 and 25-22, sweep at Hebron Thursday in the season opener for both teams. Superior played Fillmore Central at Geneva, Tuesday, with match results unavailable at press time.
The Wildcats recorded 28 kills at the net while the Titans posted 41.
Reagan Meyers led Superior with 13 kills, making a meaningful impact in her first varsity match. Ariana Heusinkvelt recorded five kills. Sadie Cornell had four kills. Halle Bargen and Madison Heusinkvelt made two kills each. Faith Butler and Lilly Edwards had a kill apiece.
Meyers slashed through three aces. Butler scored with an ace.
Cornell covered the court floor with 18 digs. Bargen and Butler contributed 12 digs each. Mia Gardner accounted for seven digs. Meyers added six digs. A. Heusinkvelt posted four digs. Edwards and M. Heusinkvelt had a dig apiece.
The Wildcats host the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders at the high school gymnasium today (Thursday). Superior visits Beatrice Saturday for the Beatrice Invitational. The Wildcats travel to Kenesaw Tuesday for a triangular match with Kenesaw and Doniphan-Trumbull.
