I am loving this weather! I wish it was like this year-round. Cool mornings and warm afternoons. I know it’s not likely to stay this way for long, so I plan to enjoy as much of it as I can. I almost wish I had the energy and inclination to get back to painting the house, but I don’t.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary this past week by breaking the bank and purchasing a few things that we need to start the renovations at the house on First Street. We have been married for eight years now, and a couple for almost 12. We haven’t killed each other yet, so I guess it’s meant to be. LOL.
George has been keeping himself busy cleaning the garage and finding all the items we have purchased over the years for the house. I find things on sale or at consignment stores and store them away until we are ready for them. It saves us a lot of money, but sometimes we can’t remember where those things were put.
It will be nice having all the building materials out of the garage. Maybe, just maybe, we will be able to have one vehicle parked under a roof this winter. I’m hopeful, but honestly doubt it. We have too much junk!
I am not looking forward to Friday when Jacob leaves. I have enjoyed him being home. We haven’t done much of anything, but it has been nice being under the same roof. He hopes to be home around Christmas, but the likelihood is slim.
I got some canning done. The lone cucumber I planted has produced enough to feed an army, and continues to do so. George and the boys love pickles, so I put up 12 quarts, before running out of brine. I have never done dill pickles before, so we will see how they turn out before doing more. I’m hoping to can meatloaf this fall and maybe some roast beef. I don’t have a lot of experience canning, just a little here and there, but I do enjoy it. X’s & O’s.
