Superior volleyball team ready for season opener

One thing the 2023 edition of the Superior High School volleyball will not be lacking is numbers. The team has 23 members on the roster as the Wildcats prepare for their season opening match against the Thayer Central Titans at Hebron today (Thursday).

Jessica Diehl, head coach, is entering her second season. She and her assistant coaches, Chrissy Ehlers and Jocelyn Grube, are optimistic the team can improve upon last season’s record of 15-13.

Senior class members of the team are Teegan Duncan, Cayce Barry, Lilly Edwards and Madison Heusinkvelt. These are the players who will provide the leadership and experience for the team.

The junior class representatives are Faith Butler, Halle Bargen, Sadie Cornell and Mia Gardner.

Sophomore class team members are Khloe Mundorf, Cora Schnakenberg, Jordan Duncan, Ariana Heusinkvelt, Ava Kirchhoff and Kaitlyn Nielsen.

Freshmen class team members are Olivia Eitzmann, Olivia Smullins, Reagan Meyers, Maddi Bargen, Alexus Hodges, Jaia Leuking, Thalia Griljava, Evah Roberts and Trinity Cordis.

Student managers for the team are Kylie Meyers, Adi Smullins and Cashlie Corman.

The Wildcats travel to Geneva, Tuesday, for a match with the Fillmore Central Panthers.
