Folks are shaking this month in southern Nebraska.
Two quakes exceeding 2.0 magnitude were reported Tuesday morning.
The epicenters of the two quakes were about 3 miles apart. The stronger and first of the two measured 2.9. A second quake coming about12 minutes later at 6:15 a.m. measured 2.5 magnitude and was located about 7 miles east, northeast of Cowles. The first quake and strongest came at 6.02 Tuesday morning and was near the Webster-Nuckolls County line located 16 miles northwest of Superior. The energy released by the quake was compared to .338 tons of TNT.
There apparently was a similar quake on Aug. 10.
