It doesn’t appear that cold, rainy weather will be a problem for this year’s 148th rendition of the Nuckolls County Fair. Vehicles getting stuck in the parking pastures will also not be a problem as the mercury is expected to climb into the triple digits on fairgrounds located on top of a hill overlooking the Nuckolls County seat at Nelson.
While there were pre-fair activities last week, the fair officially opened on Monday and the air conditioned exhibit buildings have proven to be popular gathering places this year.
