Lawrence-Nelson Beef @ School Program

We would like to welcome all the students and staff back to school and wish everyone a great year!

Throughout the year Robyn Menke, elementary cook, and Janie Corman middle-high school cook, provide the locally raised beef two days a week for the students. The L-N Beef at School committee alternates between the elementary and middle-high school every month to educate about beef and grill hamburgers for the students.

Another activity the beef donations provide is for the senior class to enjoy a special steak meal on their last day of school. The only request is for the senior class to carry forward the passion for the beef industry.

Each year it takes 10-12 beef donations to feed the elementary and middle-high school students. Beef donations do not have to be the top feedlot steer. Do you have a fleshy cull cow, open cow or heifer? Those animals would be a perfect fit for the program. The organization has producers that would feed out your donated animal if needed. Donations are always needed and tax deductible. The students greatly appreciate the nutritious and delicious beef. Current butcher dates are Aug. 14t and Dec. 4, and Feb. 12, Aug. 12, and Dec. 9, 2024.

Please contact any of these committee members for more information and to set up donations.
