(Hogue) Knarr, the middle of three children. He graduated from Jewell High School in 1966. He attended Kansas Wesleyan University for two years and played football there. He then attended Kansas State University for one year. He was always helping out on the family farm and had a love of farming. He married Marsha Jane (Dotson) Knarr on Aug. 19, 1972. Carl had his home on the family farm 1 1/2 miles North of the Wallace Cemetery in Jewell. He performed various jobs while working on the farm like raising sheep and crops. He custom cut alfalfa for a short time and mowed the Wallace Cemetery. Later he worked for Calvin Bohnert on his farm while also continuing to farm on his family's property. Times were tough and in 1993 Carl left farming and moved to town to work for the City of Jewell. He was the city superintendent for 22 years before he retired in 2015.
After retiring, Carl kept busy. He got the opportunity to help Steve McIntyre during harvests and Jack Wilson with odd jobs. He really enjoyed the opportunity to get back to farm work.
Carl was on the Jewell Volunteer Fire Department for many years while working at the city and always enjoyed helping others. He had a big heart and would try to help others in the community if they were in need.
Wood working was a passion of Carl's. While farming and staying up late nights checking on lambs, he made wood burning art. Later, after moving to town, he got a scroll saw and started making lots of ornaments and wall hangings. He enjoyed making various things and giving them away.
