The Nelson Lost Needle Quilters will be donating proceeds from a quilt raffle to the Nuckolls County 4-H Foundation.
The quilt is approximately 65x85 inches, in a gold and black western design. The main blocks were donated to the group and members then worked on putting the blocks together, hand quilting and binding the quilt. The finished quilt is quite attractive with gold quilting on black and black quilting on gold. It would be a show piece in the room of a young cowboy or cowgirl, and would carry out the western décor of anyone’s home.
Tickets are now on sale from the Extension Office, or from any one of the following Quilters: Janis Culbertson, Pat Drexel, Carol Eckles, Ruth Epley, Donna Gillan, Gwen Johnson, Sandy Larkey, Barb McCartney, Elaine Miller, Pat Skinner or Deb Troudt. Tickets are $1 each, or six for $5. In addition, the Quilters will have a booth at the Nuckolls County Fair where tickets may be purchased. It is currently on display at the Nuckolls County Extension Office. The drawing for the winner of the raffle will be held on July 28 and announced during the rodeo that evening.
The Lost Needle Quilters will donate the proceeds from the raffle to the youth of Nuckolls County and wish to further the interest of this old traditional pastime of quilting.
