Love my crazy life

I’m writing you from my porch tonight. Yes, I said night. I know, I’m weird. It’s not hot in the house or anything, I just prefer outside to in. I’m all wrapped up in my blankie, with the fan blowing on me because it’s a still night and without the fan, the bugs would bug me. I’m just clicking away at the keyboard, I love laptops, I love wi-fi, I love modern tech, when it works. LOL! Could I live without them? Yes!

There are so many ways to communicate anymore that it’s overwhelming. I have one kid who will text and call. Another that will only post to Instagram, one who only uses Facebook messenger, and one who is easiest to communicate with through SnapChat. All these stupid ap’s just to keep up with my kids. It’s too much, but I am thankful to have them.

When I was first out on my own, the only way I could call home was a collect call, or purchasing a pre-paid phone card. Remember those days? It was so hard to keep in touch. At least back then, we had something to talk about when we were able to call home. Sometimes I wonder if that was better. Probably not! I don’t know how my parents handled wondering if I was dead or alive. I couldn’t do it.

I’m glad I grew up before tech blew up. First off there is no evidence of the stupid things I did, and second, I think it was better that way. It taught patience in way. Now if you want to know about anything it’s just a click away. No scouring the library for hours, to figure out who did what and when. No waiting for your best friend to call once her chores were done. No sitting up late to hit record on your favorite songs. Now it’s all instant gratification.

Although I like it, I can’t help but wonder if it’’s really that good for us. Oh well, I guess time will tell. Pray for Rain! X’s & O’s.
