With a guess, Jensen wins the tab prize

And the winner is?

About a month ago members of the Nelson American Legion Post reported 50 pounds of pull tabs collected at the Nelson Legion over an indeterminate length of time had been delivered to the Ronald McDonald House in Omaha. At that time, it was also said that for a 25 cent contribution people could make a guess as to the number of tabs needed to make 50 pounds, with the winner to be announced following the Memorial Day Community Dinner.

Guesses ranged from a thousand to half a million, but Donna Jensen’s entry of 104,999 came closest to the actual calculated number of 120,000. This calculated total was arrived at by counting out 2 oz. of the tabs currently collected at the Legion and comparing this to the 800 oz. contained in 50 lbs. Anyone wishing to contest this calculation may do so by counting 50 pounds of tabs in the presence of unbiased witnesses and certifying the results.

Congratulations Donna! Your prize will be delivered to you. One question though; where did you learn so much about pull tabs?
