Rain dampens Nelson Rubies sight seeing ride

Thanks to event planners Pat Drexel, Bonnie Jensen, Charlene Schultz, Jaynie Spirk, Lois Hamel and Sue Burge, the Nelson Rubies enjoyed a fun filled day on May 25. The group met at the Nelson Community Center to fill cars and travel to the Nucolls County Museum at Superior where they toured the buildings and were informed by museum staff about the history of many of the artifacts and the donors who contributed to the museum's contents.

Even though all agreed that more time could be spent viewing and learning, aching feet and backs dictated the group load up the vehicles and head for Lovewell Lake where they enjoyed a delightful lunch. Beautiful sunshine was the order of the day until lunch was over and the drive around the lake began with the arrival of rain. The rain was welcome but unfortunately did not move north to Nelson.

Rubies attending were Cindy Adamson, Sue Burge, Pat Drexel, Ruth Epley, Donna Gillan, Lois Hamel, Carla Jeardoe, Bonnie Jensen, Brenda Lynch, Charlene Schultz, Jaynie Spirk, Sandra Sterkel, DeAnna Tuttle, Sally Uhrmacher and Mickey Vork. They are all looking forward to upcoming summer events.summer events.
