The Rock Hills High School track at Mankato was the site of the Northern Plains League meet Thursday.
The Rock Hills girls finished in second place, with 90 points, in the 14 team field of Osborne, Lincoln, Tescott, Sylvan-Lucas, St. John's, Natoma, Thunder Ridge, Lakeside, Pike Valley, Tipton Catholic, Wilson, Chase and Southern Cloud. The boys team was in seventh place, with 48 points, in the 13 team field. Chase had no boys team members score points.
The first six finishers in each individual event are awarded points.
Bethany Simmelink took second place in the girls 100 meter dash with her time of 13.77 seconds. Grace Ayers was in third place with her time of 14.04 seconds. Halle Mizner held sixth place with her time of 14.59 seconds.
B. Simmelink added second place points in the 200 meter dash with her time of 29.48 seconds. Ayers finished in third place with a time of 30.1 seconds. Savannah Coil was in fifth place with her time of 30.38 seconds.
B.Simmelink finished in sixth place in the 400 meter dash with her time of 1:12.77.
Hannah Simmelink took top honors in the 800 meter run with her time of 2:34.98. Lauren Whelchel finished in sixth place with her time of 3:10.48.
H. Simmelink held sixth place in the 1600 meter run with her time of 6:15.06. Peyton Zadina competed in the event.
Zadina was in sixth place in the 3200 meter run with her time of 18.24.34.
Mizner was in fourth place in the 300 meter hurdles with her time of 57.33 seconds.
The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Mizner, Coil, B. Simmelink and Ayers earned the first place points with their time of 53.44 seconds.
The 4 x 800 meter relay team of Faith Reinert, Trinity Robinson, Coil and Zadina were in second place with their time of 15:28.37.
Reinert competed in the discus and javelin throws.
Whelchel earned the second place points in the pole vault with her height of 9".
Whelchel grabbed the first place points for the high jump with her height of 4'10". Mizner earned fifth place with her height of 4'8".
H. Simmelink and Ayers finished seventh and eighth in the long jump.
Coil was in third place in the triple jump with her combined distance of 30'1".
Spencer Lindberg competed in the 100 meter dash.
Lindberg was in eighth place in the 200 meter dash with his time of 27.01 seconds.
Kobi Bowers ran in the 800 meter run.
Bowers, Coe Neilson and Trystyn Reynolds competed in the 1600 meter run,
Reynolds finished in fifth place in the 3200 meter run with his time of 12:06.92.
The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Lindberg, Cooper McDill, Nate Meyers and Camden Ward held second place with their time of 47.14 seconds.
The 4 x 800 meter relay team of Bowers, McDill, Reynolds and Ward finished in second place with their time of 9:10.76.
Aaron Underwood and Eli Vance took part in the shot put.
Underwood finished ins seventh in the discus with a throw of 101'5".
McDill finished in fifth place in the javelin with his throw of 128'7".
Ward was third in the high jump with his height of 5'8".
Meyers landed the first palce points in the long jump with his leap of 22'5".
Ward held fourth place in the triple jump with his combined distance of 36'4".
Grizzly team members will vie for a place at the state meet at Wichita at the Region 1A meet hosted by Rock Hills at Mankato today (Thursday).
