L-N track at Deshler

The Lawrence-Nelson boys and girls track and field teams competed at the Del Wicks Invitational hosted by Deshler High School Thursday.

The girls team finished in eighth place, with 19 points, in the nine team field of Thayer Central, Meridian, Dorchester Public, Deshler, Rock Hills, Superior and Friend.

The boys team was in fifth place with 55 points.

The top eight finishers in individual events were awarded points at this meet.

Jessica Sole finished in fifth place in the girls 1600 meter run with her time of 7:28.75.

Sole took third place in the 3200 meter run with her time of 16:08.05.

Sydney Biltoft took first place in the 300 meter hurdles with her time of 51.88 seconds.

Erik Wheeland came in eighth in the boys 100 meter dash with his time of 12.5 seconds.

Devyn Zikmund earned the second place points in the 200 meter dash with his time of 23.81 seconds.

D. Zikmund grabbed the first place points in the 400 meter dash with his time of 54.95 seconds. Sawyer Cox recorded a time of 1:05.84.

Nolan Ostdiek was the first 800 meter runner across the finish line with his time of 2:21.18.

Cody Funk landed sixth place in the 3200 meter run with his time of 6:02.65.

The 4 x 100 meter relay team posted a sixth place finish with their time of 51.45 seconds.

The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Kotinek, Ostdiek, Funk and Zikmund posted a time of 4:06.88 seconds for a fourth place finish.

Cox was in sixth place for the shot put with his toss of 35'4". Wheeland held seventh place with his toss of 34'9". Rocky Mill registered a toss of 32'3.5".

Wheeland nabbed third place points in the discus with his throw of 111'1.5". Cox was in fourth with his throw of 111"1". Nathan Pofahl had a best throw of 70"4".

Zikmund listed a fifth place finish in the long jump with a length of 18'3.5". Tyson Kotinek had a leap of 16'8.5".

Kotinek sealed a second place finish in the triple jump with his combined distance of 38'8.5".

The Raiders competed at the Superior Invitational Tuesday with meet results unavailable at press time.
